I was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1782. After that, I served in the Continental Congress from 1783 to 1786. Soon after that, I was elected to be the United States Senator in 1790. After these years I became very busy, I was elected to be the governer of Virginia in 1811. I then served as Secratary of State from 1811 to 1814.
